My teeth are breaking

If your teeth are breaking, contact a dentist immediately. Broken and chipped teeth can become infected or suffer more damage, making it more difficult to restore the natural tooth.

If only a small piece of your tooth has chipped, bond or filling may be used to fix it. If the piece is much larger, your dentist may recommend covering it with a veneer or a crown. And if the damage is so severe that your natural teeth are unrepairable, it’s important that you still have the teeth replaced. Having missing teeth will make you more vulnerable to decay, gum disease, and bone loss — which all make it more difficult to restore later. Once you see your dentist, they’ll be able to better determine the type of treatment you should receive.
